Denny Bennett
Denny Bennett became passionate about bringing a public pool to Minneapolis after an experience that touched his family. His son, who was fourteen years old at the time, was fishing at Lake Harriet, when he noticed a five-year-old boy cry out, before going under water that was over his head. His son, who had earned his Lifesaving Merit Badge at Scout camp, was able to dive in and get to the young boy in time to save him. Through this experience, Denny realized the importance of swimming lessons, and wanted all to have the opportunity to learn.
Denny is a mortgage broker for Klein Bank, and also serves on the Board of Directors for DePauw University, Board of Directors for the Saint’s Men’s Club, Scoutmaster for Troop 3089, and MPS Swimming Task Force. He is a Minneapolis resident, and has three children. |
